Concept:

1 mole of any atom contains 6.023 × 10²³ number of atoms.

Given:

The mass of the atoms, 16g of C, 20g of Na, 45g of S and 15g of N.

Find:

The one which has the maximum number of atoms.

Solution:

Number of moles in 16g of C,

n = Mass/Atomic mass

n = 16/12 = 4/3

The Number of atoms is 1.33 × 6.023 × 10²³ atoms.

Similarly,

Number of moles in 20g of Na,

n = Mass/Atomic mass

n = 20/23

The Number of atoms is 0.87 × 6.023 × 10²³ atoms.

Similarly,

Number of moles in 45g of S,

n = Mass/Atomic mass

n = 45/32

The Number of atoms is 1.4 × 6.023 × 10²³ atoms.

Similarly,

Number of moles in 15g of N,

n = Mass/Atomic mass

n = 15/14

The Number of atoms is 1.07 × 6.023 × 10²³ atoms.

Hence, 45g of S is having maximum number of atoms. Hence, the correct option is (c) 45g of S.
