Condensation reactions of terephthalic acid and ethylene glycol form Dacron, glycerol with phthalic acid forms glyptal, and melamine and formaldehyde to form synthetic melamine. Neoprene is formed by the addition reaction of monomers and is a chain-growth reaction.
