• It contains iron and nickel and is solid in nature and that is why it is often addressed as "nife" (nickel-ni, iron- fe).
• Next, is the mantle which is made up of semi-molten rocks also known as magma.
• Then the earth's crust contains the upper layer which is composed of silicone and aluminum minerals. Thus, it is also said that the upper crust layer is composed of "sial" (silicone- si, aluminum-al).
• The layer just below "nife" that is the lower part of the earth's crust is mainly made of silica and magnesia minerals i.e. "sima".

Thus, nickel is metal and not a layer of the earth.
