Nagaland became state in 1963 with the enactment of Nagaland Act, 1962.
Haryana became a state on November 1, 1966. Earlier,the territories were merged with the British territories of Punjab.
Sikkim became part of India on 15th May, 1975. Earlier, Sikkim has its own independent monarchy. However, Indian army took over the city of Gangtok.
Arunachal Pradesh became a full fledged state on 20th February, 1987. Prior to this, it was known as North- East Frontier Agency (NEFA).
