The correct answer is option (C) Carnitine.

The overall chemical reaction of fatty acid oxidation through beta oxidation is

Cn Acyl Co-A + FAD + NAD+ H2O + CO -A → Cn-2 Acyl Co- A + FADH2 + NADH + H+ + acetyl Co - A

In the above reaction, if the Acyl Co-A is a long chain, then carnitine is used. Acyl Co- A is transferred to hydroxyl group of carnitine and acyl - carnitine is formed. In the further reaction, acyl- carnitine is again changed to acyl Co - A.

Hence, it is clearly visible that carnitine is required.
