Answer:

F = q(v x B) As for same velocity and magnetic field alpha particle will experience maximum force because it have greater charge than beta particle.

The force,F due to magnetic field B on a charge q moving with velocity v is

F=q(vXB ).

If v is perpendicular to B, this force,F= qvB.

Direction of this force is perpendicular to B and v.

Thus, this force acts as centripetal force on the particle causing a circular motion.

mv^2/R=qvB. Therefore,

R=mv/(qB).

So, for v and B remaining the same for different charge particles,

radius of circular path is proportional to m/q. Therefore , taking Re and R as radii of circular paths of electron ( note that beta particles are electrons) and alpha particles respectively and m and M as masses of electron and alpha particle, we have

Re/R( alpha)=(m/e)/(M/2e) =(m/M)(2)< <<< 1. Then,

Re<R

Thus, beta particles have smaller circular path.
