on left to right metallic character decrease

and top to bottom metallic character increase

BI is correct answer

C ( carbon) is from 2nd period
and BI , AS and SB from Nitrogen family
and BI is at bottom
so Bi have more metallic character.

Answer :

Here,

As is Arsenic ☆ Z = 33

Bi is Bismuth ☆ Z = 83

C is Carbon ☆ Z = 6

Sb is Antimony ☆ Z = 51

》》C is in 14th Group and 2nd Period

》》 Bi, Sb, & As are in 15th Group and 6th , 5th & 4th Periods respectively.

We know that metallic character decreases from left to right of a table and increases from top to bottom.

☆ So from we take left to right we get 'C' has more metallic and when we take from top to bottom we get 'Bi' has more metallic character. There answer will either of these two.

》》Now let us take electronic configuration of C and Bi.

C ==> 2,4
Bi ==> 2,8,8,8,8,8,8,1

We know elements with metallic character will mostly lose electrons easily and most has 1 as valence electrons.

Here Bi has 1 as valence electron and it has more metallic character than all others.

Your answer : Bi
