The roots of 1st onion have longer roots.

Explanation:

Because they have dividing cell (apical meristem) present at bottom whereas there will be no growth of second onion because there is no dividing tissue (apical meristem) present since we had cut the root tips. So when there is two onions then the1st one will have longer roots.
