roots will still continue growing. The apical meristem is responsible for the growth of roots at the tip,so when we cut the root tips the apical meristem is cut off.The roots will still continue growing but at a slower rate. there are some trees that when you cut the tip off will stop growing others will beging to grow uncontrolled on all branches .
