Question-Which order from the followng is true for boiling Points ?

\Huge{\red{\underline{\textsf{Answer}}}}

OPTION B

ethane < chloroethane < ethanol

\Huge{\green{\underline{\textsf{Explaination}}}}

•Ethanol is an alcohol due to this reason it has highest boiling point amongst others two,now why it is so?This is because of the H-Bonding b/w the molecules of alcohol that requires more energy for breakdown.

•Secondly,There is a Cl group attached to the ethane which makes it a polar molecule and polar molecules have strong forces of attraction b/w the particles.

•Therefore ,the order becomes clear i.e.

ethane < chloroethane < ethanol
