Answer:

The organisms which contain chlorophyll and photosynthetic pigments only can prepare their own food and the remaining organisms which cannot prepare their own food depends upon others like some insectivorous plants which cannot prepare their own food eats insects by trapping with the special modifications they had.Similarly animals depend on plants and on other animals .

Explanation:

Non-green plants lack chlorophyll necessary for photosynthesis, a process that uses light energy to convert carbon dioxide and water molecules into carbohydrates for the plant : its food. Plants that are non-green get their food by parasitising other organisms, and ‘stealing’ their food. Examples of these plants are Broom-rape feeding off other green plants nearby, through its stem and root extensions in the ground, and the Cistus parasite that I saw parasitising the roots and ground stems of normal Mediterranean Cistus plants recently. This very colourful non-green plant is a parasite related to Rafflesia, a giant colourful ground ‘plant’ parasite growing in tropical asian rainforests that ‘steals’ from nearby plants, and may also attract and kill insects by its smell and appearance, thus obtaining food from their bodies.
