The organism which carry out lactic acid fermentation is a bacteria named Lactobacillus lacti.
This bacteria converts pyruvic acid into lactic acid and the process is known as lactic acid fermentation.
Lactic acid is also produced in our body when there is lack of supply of oxygen in our body like during heavy exercise.
In our body, lactic acid is formed by the enzyme called lactate dehydrogenase which reduces pyruvic acid into lactic acid.
