The organization that aims to liberalize international trade is the World Trade Organization (WTO).
The World Trade Organization or WTO was set up in 1995 with its headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland. Its main aim is to maintain a smooth flow of trade between nations that is facilitated through trade agreements and treaties.
The WTO was set up as a result of the agreement between nations that were part of the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT). It took over from GATT the functions of reduction in tariffs and removal of trade barriers between world nations, on a mutually advantageous basis.
