Which other procedures will you suggest to stidy newton's laws of motion in the labortory

1. Newton's second law of motion states that the acceleration of an object is directly proportional to the vector sum of the forces acting on it and inversely proportional to the total mass of the object. This law can be examined using the Atwood machine by -

i. Varying the total mass while keeping the unbalanced force constant.

ii. Varying the unbalanced force while keeping the total mass constant.

 

2. Penny on a card experiment - Take a small plastic cup, a playing card and a coin. Place the playing card on top of the plastic cup. Put a coin on top of the card. Hit the card out from under the coin with a sharp flick. Or else pull it very quickly towards yourself. The coin will drop into the cup.

This shows that the coin has inertia. According to Newton's law an object at rest will remain at rest and an object in motion will continue to be in motion unless acted upon by an outside force.
