Procedure to study Newton's law of Motion in the laboratory-
- take two spring balances of different ranges and marked as A and B.
- the least count of the spring balances was noted.
- the ring of spring balance A is fixed on a hook fixed in the wall and the spring balance B is fixed to the hook of spring balance A.
- keep the spring balances horizontally to the table.
- Pull the ring of spring balance B gently.
- Observe and note the reading of both the spring balances and repeat it by applying different forces.
Observations:
- Least count of the spring balance = Value of 1 small division
- Least count of the spring balance A= ______ N
- Least count of the spring balance B= ______ N
Result:
The reading of the both balances are same in every time the force changes. Thus, action and reaction forces are equal and opposite.
