Rutherford passed few Alfa particles through the gold foil. He observed that few rays deflected at some angle. And few passed through them. And 1 out of 120 rays deflected at 180 degree. So he concluded that there is some positivly charged particles in the center of the nucleus and he named it as protons

hi friend
here's your answer looking for

Rutherford gold foil experiment was a evolutionary one.
because it describe the actual structure of atom.
before that, it was believe that, the atom is like a cupcake pudding , which has negatively charged particle embedded in positive sphere.

that after this experiment it was proof that, atom has a very small nucleus in its Centre that is positively charged and negatively charged particle used to revolve around the nucleus or positively charged denser part of the atom.

so as you are asking, "which part of atom was discovered by Rutherford alpha particle scattering experiment?"

☢☣Your answer is:-
the nucleus of the atom that is positively charged was discovered by Rutherford alpha particle scattering experiment.

let's discuss about that experiment,
to understand this experiments let's understand what is alpha particle?

☢☣Alpha particles:- Alpha particles are positively charged particle. mainly they are the charged Helium ion that has 2 Proton to neutron without a single electron.
these particles are emitted by the nucleus of radioactive elements during radioactive decay.

☢☢☢☣☣☣ in his experiment, he was taken a thin gold foil that has the average thickness of 1000 atom. then he passed the Alpha particles that is emitted by the radioactive element.

he was surprised to see that, some of the Alpha particle get easily pass through the gold foil while some shows deflection and some bounce back.
then he concluded that, the atom has positively charged centre that is called as nucleus, by which positively charged Alpha particle shows deflection.
this is because like charges repel each other.

but some of the particles get easily pass through that foil. then he again concluded that, there must be a large spaces where the negatively charged particle are present between the atom. and because of that large spaces , the Alpha particle get easily passed.☣☣☣☢☢☢

so by this experiment he came to know, atom has dense positively charged nucleus and it also has a large spaces where the negatively charged particle at present.
