The northern part of the peninsular plateau subsided to form a large basin.


The northern plateau subsided because of upliftment of Himalayas in the Tethys sea.


Due to this upliftment, the norther part of the peninsular plateau subsided to form the large basin.


This basin was filled with large sediments from different sources.
