Meiosis occurs in the anthers and ovary of the angiosperms. Meiosis helps in the formation of spores in plants. The pollen mother cell in the anthers undergoes meiosis to haploid microspores.

A plant’s ovary is suitable for the study of Meiosis.

Answer: Option (2)

Explanation:

Meiosis can be referred as a unique type of division where the chromosomes got duplicated (at once), but the cell got divided into two. Thus every parent cell comprises of 4 daughter cells. Thus each of the daughter cells possesses half number of chromosomes and respective DNA than other normal cells.

This division is also referred as reduction division. It is commonly occurred either in spermatozoa and ovary of the plant’s flowers, in order to develop a form called haploid spores. The analysis about this division could also be done in young buds of a flower.
