Answer:

There are 3 sensors of light in our eyes. They are red, blue and green. When yellow light falls on our eyes,  the red and green sensors are activated simultaneously. Hence yellow light has greater visibility as compared to other colours in the white light spectrum.  But compared to red, our eyes are more sensitive to green. Hence the   yellow-green region in the white light spectrum gives the highest visibility.
