All happens in alimentary canal
The process of chewing is called mastication
This happens as-:
Firstly we take food then our teeth crush it cut it chew it and grind it and after that the tongue mixes saliva produced by the salivary gland a enzyme present in it called amylase which break down the food in small particles and also push the food towards oesophagus or food pipe nothing happens in food pipe just food goes through it there is also pharynx just above the oesophagus
Food travels down in stomach it mixes hydrochloric acid and an enzyme called pepsin the acid kills the germs and pepsin helps in the break down of food...and so on
There is long process
Hope it helps you
