The lung (the pump) must produce adequate airflow and air pressure to vibrate vocal folds (this air pressure is the fuel of the voice). The vocal folds (vocal cords) are a vibrating valve that chops up the airflow from the lungs into audible pulses that form the laryngeal soundsource.

Larynx which is present in between pharynx and trachea produces sound in human body.
It is also called as voice box of humans.
larynx play an important role in release of sound by human, reason how is given below.
When we speak anything , air is released from lungs and vocal chords in larynx closes and vibrate as air expells from lungs and passes thru the chords.
These vibrations produce sound.
