The left frontal lobe or Broca’s area is known to be the language dominant hemisphere which is the section to interact with speech and motor control. Broca’s area is more common with grammatical errors and patient with damaged Broca’s area have a hard time understanding passive form sentences. Another area related to speech is Wernicke’s Area. Wernicke’s area is located in the upper portion of the temporal lobe and behind the auditory cortex. This area is related to understanding speech from other individuals. Individuals who have damage here can speak normally but they will not understand what others are saying.
