The site of glucose re-absorption in the nephron is proximal tubule.
Almost 100% of the glucose is reabsorbed through proximal tubules.
First, glucose is co-transported along with sodium from the filtrate passing through proximal tubule to the cells of proximal tubule wall. It takes place S1 of the proximal tube with the help of symporter SGLT2.
In segment 3 (S3) of the proximal tubule glucose is reabsorbed in a similar fashion but with the help of SGLT1.
Once, glucose is inside the cells of wall of proximal tubule they are reabsorbed by blood capillaries by diffusion with the GLUT transporters (GLUT 2 in S1 and GLUT 1 in S3).
