Answer:

After fertilization occurs, each ovule develops into a seed. Each seed contains a tiny, undeveloped plant called an embryo. The ovary surrounding the ovules develops into a fruit that contains one or more seeds.

Answer:

The ovule is the part of the flower that changes into the seed and the ovary changes into fruit after fertilization.

Explanation:

When after the pollination, the pollen tube grows downwards through the style towards the ovule and enters the ovule's micropyle.

  • It penetrates the nucellus and reaches the egg apparatus, then enters into one synergid.
  • Sperm cells are released when the pollen tube bursts, one of which goes towards the egg through the protoplasm of synergid.
  • Sperm cell loses most of their protoplasm, as their membrane breaks down.
  • The sperm nucleus enters the egg and then fuses with the egg nucleus.
  • After the fertilization of the egg cell by the sperm cells, the new egg cell formed is diploid and is termed a zygote.
  • In angiosperms, there is a 2nd sperm nucleus that is released from the pollen tube travels from the synergid into the central cell.
  • The formation of the endosperm nucleus occurs as the sperm cell undergoes karyogamy with 2 polar nuclei. The endosperm nucleus is triploid. Because the fusion of both egg nucleus and polar nuclei are fused, separately by the sperm nuclei, the process is called double fertilization.
  • The endosperm nucleus begins to divide mitotically, forming thousands of nuclei inside the enlarging central cell. after the division stops, nuclei are surrounded by dense cytoplasm, and walls are constructed. All of these tissues are called Endosperm which nourishes the Zygote (or later the embryo)
  • The zygote develops into an embryo through mitotic divisions, which are present in an immature seed.
  • Embryo and endosperm developed from the zygote and the central cell stays in the nucellus of the ovule. The integument that surrounds the nucellus expands and matures into a seed coat( testa) as the rest of the ovule grows and forms the seed and the ovary develops into a fruit.
