It may be divided into two periods: The 'early medieval period' which lasted from the 6th to the 13th century and the 'late medieval period' which lasted from the 13th to the 16th century, ending with the start of the Mughal Empire in 1526.

In the history of Europe, the Middle Ages(or Medieval Period) lasted from the 5th to the 15th century. It began with the fall of the Western Roman Empire and merged into the Renaissance and the Age of Discovery. In the history of Europe, theMiddle Ages (or Medieval Period) lasted from the 5th to the 15th century.

Archaeological sources in the forms of buildings and structures such as temples dedicated to their beloving gods, inscriptions sucha as ashoka inscriptions which was inscribed for the knowledge of their people, coins issued by rulers and weaponry used by their army.
