The word Neolithic basically is derived from two words that is NEO which means New and LITHIC which means Stone. Neolithic period basically refers to the New Stone Age that is basically around 12,000 years ago. People in this period used stones tools and weapons but they had started to polish and grind them. The difference between the early stone age and the new stone age is the invention of agriculture. Hope this answer is helpful.
