Persistence of vision is used to create motion pictures.
- Our brain is capable of processing the still images observed by our eyes upto a very limited pace.
- When, the pace of image showing goes beyond our brain capabilities of detection as individual images, an optical illusion of the motion is created. And, we observe motion on the screen.
- Same principle is used in motion pictures also. Multiple frames like 12,24,60 frames are shown in just a second, and it appears to be a smooth motion to our eyes. Gradually the series of fast moving frames or pictures, become videos.
