Thank you for this important question.

The philosopher who called poetry "Mother of all Lies" is Plato, who banished poetry from his ideal world. He believed that it was a wastage of time and was a source of abuse. He thought that poetry did not let people to become realistic.

Plato was a Greek philosopher who created the Academy in Ethens. He was one of the classical philosophers of Greece.

Stephen Gosson, an English satirist later continued his legacy and charged against poetry giving same reasons as Plato.
