Rainly place and high sea waves both are risky

I'll cancel the trip Because . .

Heavy rainfall - can lead to numerous hazards, for example: flooding, including risk to human life, damage to buildings and infrastructure, and loss of crops and livestock. landslides, which can threaten human life, disrupt transport and communications, and cause damage to buildings and infrastructure.

high sea waves - Both small and high waves can be equally as unpredictable and dangerous and typically form when there is a rapid transition from deep to shallow water. The power of a shorebreak can cause injuries to extremities and the cervical spine. ... Be sure to ask a lifeguard about the wave conditions before going into the water.

The Air-Sea Interaction Laboratory (ASI Lab) is led by professor Fabrice Veron. The ASI Lab is affiliated with the Physical Ocean Science and Engineering (POSE) program in the School of Marine Science and Policy at the University of Delaware. Research at the ASI Lab focuses on surface waves and wave processes including:

  • Wave breaking,
  • Airflow and turbulence over wind waves,
  • Generation of sea-spray by breaking waves,
  • Turbulence on both sides of the interface,
  • Rain impact on the ocean surface, and
  • Air-sea gas fluxes.

The ASI Lab pioneers field and laboratory experiments, along with some theoretical and numerical work. The Lab experiments are performed in the large wind-wave-current flume of the ASI Lab. For more information, please contact Dr. Fabrice Veron.

At the Air-Sea Interaction Laboratory, we commit to creating and upholding an inclusive, safe, open, and professional environment for learning, conducting, and communicating research with integrity, respect, fairness, trustworthiness, and transparency.
