Bill Magnuson (the hack driver) took the narrator to Fritz's, then to the Gustaff's barber Shop. After this he went to Gray's barber shop, where they missed him by five minutes. Then they looked for him in the poolroom, where Lutkins bought cigarette and left. After a break they went to Lutkins' mother, who chased them away by threatening them.
