Also It is not too far our earth and also temperature with respect to other planets is favourable . There is no point or evidence that other planet can be colonized easily as other planets like venus , it is hottest planet of solar system because of large percentage of carbon dioxide present in it , then It would be impossible to alter the temperature . Farther planets like uranus , neptune , saturn are very cold to be inhabitable and Jupiter is full of gases .

Now , Just imagine if we are able to alter the temperature but the most important thing which gravitational force , we cannot alter that and Mars's gravitational force doesn't vary too much .
