The planet "Venus" in our solar system was visited by the Russian - built Venera 7.

Venus is the second planet from the sun. It has the longest rotation period of any other planets and it rotates in opposite direction.

Venera 7 was a Soviet spacecraft which is part of the Venera series of probes to Venus. When Venera 7 landed on the planet Venus, it became the first spacecraft to transmit the data from there back to Earth. Venera 7 landed on the planet Venus in 1970.

The Venera series house probes were developed by the land between 1961 and 1984 to collect information from Venus, Venera being the Russian name for Venus. Like a number of the Soviet Union's alternative planetary probes, the later versions were launched in pairs with a second vehicle launched presently once the primary.

Ten probes from the Venera series with success landed on Venus and transmitted information from the surface of Venus, as well as the 2 Vega program and Venera-Halley probes. Additionally, 13 Venera probes with success transmitted information from the atmosphere of Venus.  

Russian house professional Leonid Ksanfomaliti claimed to own discovered life on Venus once analysing images taken by a Soviet probe that landed on the planet's surface thirty years past.
