The reformed Gondwanan continent was not precisely the same as that which had existed before Pangaeaformed; for example, most of Florida and southern Georgia and Alabama is underlain by rocks that were originally part of Gondwana, but this region stayed attached to North America when the Central Atlantic opened.

Millions of years ago, the super continent pangea began to drift apart. This created Angara in the morth and Gondwana in the south. Gondwana consisted of Australia, India,Antarctica,S.america and S. africa. Due toconvectional currents, the plate began to drift apart resulting in Ondo-Australian plate moving northwards.. This movement resulted in the collision of much bigger Eurasian plate.This then resulted in the uplift of tethys sea and himalayas were formed joining the present landform of india with Euradian plate.
