There is no centrifugal force because if you want something to travel in a circle you have to push it inwards towards the centre of the circle. A Centrifugal forxce would not work because it would be pushing thew wrong way.

Put at its simplest, if you want to turn left, you need a force that pushes you to the left. People who talk about forces acting in the opposite direction are talking absolute nonsense. I will concede that it is easy to be duped and it may feel like there ids a force to the right - but you are being duped and it does not withstand any serious thought.

You are in a car on a straight road. There is a left hand bend approaching. Does the car need a force to push it to the left ( centripetal force) or do you think that pushing the car to the right will make it go around the left hand bend? You have to be pretty thick to get this wrong!
