Maintenance of battery:

The battery is a device that can supply power at a constant voltage for a considerable amount of time by means of the conversion of chemical energy to electrical energy.

These batteries do need some safety precautions before they are used. Some of them are –

• The short circuit must be prevented. Proper resistance must be included in the circuit before switching the battery on.
• The battery must be kept away from sharp-edged objects to avoid puncture.
• Flat batteries like used in mobiles should not be folded else fire can break out.
• It should not be wet or any chemicals should not fall on it.
