According to the constitution, there are certain powers that are held by both the federal government and the states at concurrently. They are known as concurrent powers. And are therefore executed by both arms of government.

Tax collection, law making, enforcement of laws, building and maintaining roads, internal and external borrowing for budgets purposes and licensing corporations are some of the laws held concurrently.
