In general, it is because the blunt knife as well as it has more surface area as compared to sharp knife.


Due to this it doesn't apply more pressure.


A sharp knife also has a very thin edge to its blade.


Overall, sharp knife cuts objects better because it has very thin edge.

Pressure exerted by blunt knife is actually low pressure.

A blunt knife is actually have large surface area for cutting, since large area means less pressure so it have less pressure.
