Everyone connected to the web are in a threat of being victims of cyber crime. The safety and security is just a misconception. A major threat to commoners due to cyber crimes is 'leasing out' of information. Some websites use their audiences' information and sell them to other third parties. These parties now use this information to create botnets, which are networks of computers being operated simultaneously at a place, without the knowledge of the owner. Commoners may also fall prey to hackers who get into their systems and accounts and misuse it for their selfish purposes.

The main problem that the common man face due to cyber crime is fraud and identity theft of the person. For an example if the government portal is not secured by best servers of the world which has the maximum security then the person may loss the identity. In India after the development of Aadhar card since they are not protected by the best servers the data gets leaked as a result all the important details gets exposes to the fraudsters.
