I think there is not any particular process for such regulation.

In plants there is a Process namely Photosynthesis which regulated the amount of CO^2 and O^2 in the atmosphere.

Hope this will help yaa...

Photosynthesis is the process in plants that regulates the level of oxygen and carbon dioxide in the atmosphere,

  • The process of photosynthesis is carried out mostly by plants and  algae and some types of bacteria. In this process, they capture energy from sunlight to produce oxygen (O_2) and chemical energy that is then stored in the form of glucose.
  • During photosynthesis, plants take in carbon dioxide (CO_2) and water  (H_2O) from the air and soil. During this process H_2O is oxidized, while the CO_2 is reduced.
  • Due to this water turns into oxygen and carbon dioxide into glucose. The plants release the oxygen back into the air, and stores energy as the glucose molecules.
