some times diffusion for small molecules along concentration gradient but sometimes active transport for moving molecules across membrane in opposite direction of their concentration

There are two different processes available in moving water molecules across the membrane of the cells.
When it comes to osmosis, it is the most important process where all molecules completely move through membrane.
Though, water is fully polar and it is inefficient.
Also, it is the facilitated diffusion, where molecules actually move through the protein channels known as aquaporins.
