After analyzing the condition of schools and the education system, Operation Blackboard introduced by the Central government in 1988. The main theme was to spread education and improve educational standards across India. The government provided funds to improve schools by giving classrooms, laboratory apparatus, a blackboard, maps, a small library, etc. In 1994, the District Primary Education Programme (DPEP) began after seeing the success of the Operation blackboard.
