The Property which bestly indicates that compound contains the Ionic bond is that '' It Conducts electricity when Molten''.

The Ionic or simply called as Electrovalent Bond has High boiling point and are soluble in water perfectly.

They do not form ions which means that they don't conduct the electricity in solid state but when they are dissolved in aqueous solutions or simply they are melted so that they can come in  molten form, they form ions and hence conducts the electricity.

The reason for being conducting in molten or aqueous state then in solid state is that they have higher force of the attraction in sold state which can not be broken the electricity but when they are dissolved in water or in molten state there force of attraction between the molecules weakens as a result they conducts the electricity.

Hope it helps.
