First of all , what is CROMPTON EFFECT ?
- It is any effect observed when a high energy Photon collides with the target resulting in release of loosely bound electron from the valence shell of the atoms.
- So, during collision, the energy of the photons decrease resulting in increase of the wavelength of the scattered photons.
Now, in this phenomenon, it can be clearly demonstrated that light can't be completely be explained with wave-nature.
Hence, CROMPTON EFFECT explains the particle property of light and considers photons as individual particles undergoing interaction with matter.
Hope It Helps.
