Associative property states that we can multiply/add three or more numbers in any order, the result will always be the same.

Here, 3 numbers/variables 9, 6 and x are being multiplied together in two different orders. But as we can see, the result of both the expressions is same.

= 9x(6) = (6)x9

= 54x = 54x

Note: Associative property is not true for subtraction and division, As subtraction and division are not even commutative.( it can be true for some cases) i. e.

2 - 3 ≠ 3 - 2

Also,

2 ÷ 3 ≠ 3 ÷ 2
