Metals are a solid material which shows property of lustre and hardness , good conductor of electricity etc .

Examples of metal are :- Gold, Silver etc.

The property of metal enhibits change in thin layer of metal is called malleability.

• Malleability is the property of metals which drawn metal into thin sheet when beaten by hammer.

Examples are :-

• Aluminum foil which is a layer of Aluminum metal and it is mostly used to wrap food items .

• Gold foil which is a layer of Gold metal and it had been used by Rutherford to show his experiment.

Some More Properties of Metals :-

• Metals are a solid hard material and this property is called Hardness

• Metals have shiny and polished surface. This property is called Lustre

• When we strike metal they produces ringing sound . This property is called Sonorous

• Metals are good conductor of electricity as they possess free electrons in outermost shell

• Metals are malleable and ductile it means metals can be drawn into thin sheets and wires.
