The properties of metals which make them suitable for their use in jewellery are as follows:

  • Shiny (lustrous)

  • Malleable

  • Ductile

Shine of metals :

  • Metals shine due to presence of free electrons on the surface. This metallic lusture helps to make the jewellery more attractive.

Malleable character:

  • Metals can be beaten into thin sheets. Thin sheets can be used to produce various components of a jewellery.

  • Malleable character of metals like gold and silver helps us to create gold and silver coins.

Ductility:

  • Ductility refers to the ability of being drawn into a wire. This character of metals helps to create gold wires which can hold the other components of the jewellery

Hope It Helps.

Ans=

metals are substance  or minerals  which form  under the earth surface

which have special properties like

  1. meliability
  2. ductility
  3. sonours
  • if metals are react  with water it gives heat . e.g sodium
  • if metals are react with acid it gives  hydrogen gas
  • if metals are react with oxygen it gives metal oxides
  • metals are good conductor of heat

by observing  this property we use metals in making jewellery

becoz of metals are shiny, durable and ductile

examples of metal ,

LI        Lithium

Be Beryllium

Na Sodium

Mg Magnesium

Al Aluminium

K Potassium

Ca Calcium

Sc Scandium

Ti Titanium

v   Vanadium

Cr Chromium
