The change in temperature changes the speed of the sound. When the air is heated the vibration among the atoms are faster and more. When the temperature is low, the sound waves deal more inertia, and the speed of the sound becomes less.

The velocity of sound is

v=\sqrt{\gamma \frac{P}{\rho}}

Where P is pressure and  is density and  is an adiabatic constant.

Thus, the speed of the sound wave depends on pressure and density. The speed increases by changing both pressure and density.

PV=nRT

∵V=\frac{m}{\rho}

\frac{P}{\rho}=RT

v=\sqrt{\gamma RT}

∴v α \sqrt{T}

Thus, the speed of sound depends on temperature. To determine the speed of sound, one has to use the below formula.

v = 331+0.6×T
