Keratin is a fibrous structural protein. It is key structure for making hairs,claws,hooves etc. and most important in human skin. Keratin is also important because it protects epithical tissues from Damage of tissues. When it forms bundles it becomes rough and hard that is found in amphibians,birds, reptiles and mammals.
