\bigstar Question:

  • Which quadrants on x axis the following points will lie (0,5) (-2,3) (-2,-6) ( 3,6)?

\bigstarAnswer:

The signs for the Quadrants are:

  • I Quadrant \rightarrow (+,+)
  • II Quadrant \rightarrow (-,+)
  • III Quadrant \rightarrow (-,-)
  • IV Quadrant \rightarrow (+,-)

So, the following points lie in:

  • (0,5) \rightarrow It lies on y - axis.
  • (-2,3)\rightarrow It lies in II Quadrant.
  • (-2,-6) \rightarrow It lies in III Quadrant.
  • ( 3,6) \rightarrow It lies in I Quadrant.

\bigstarNote:

  • When the abscissa is 0 and y coordinate is a number, then the point lies on y - axis.
  • When the ordinate of a co-ordinate is 0, and absicssa is a number, then the point lies on x - axis.
