Answer : Angular Momentum or Azimuthal Quantum number.

There are Four quantum numbers ;

1) Principle quantum number - Size of the orbit.

2) Angular Momentum or Azimuthal quantum number - Shape of the orbital

3) Magnetic quantum number - Orientation of orbital in the atom.

4) Spin quantum number - Gives the spin of the electron.

Azimuthal quantum number is represented by " l", For n values, there exists l values from 0 to n-1.

For, n = 1, you have l = 0, which is s orbital, spherical.

For, n = 2, you have l = 0, which is s orbital, spherical, you have l = 1, which is p orbital, dum-bell shape .

l = 2 is named as d, l = 3 is named as f.
